Caller ID spoofing is the practice of causing the telephone network to indicate to the receiver of a call that the originator of the call is someone other than the true originating person or company.

Central Bank and Advantage Business Capital phone numbers are being spoofed and used to make calls and texts that appear to come from Central Bank or Advantage Business Capital, but they are not. They are criminals trying to obtain information to gain access to your accounts or debit cards.

If you receive a call that appears to come from Central Bank, ask the caller for their name and department and tell them you will call them back. Hang up the phone and call the bank back at their main number 832-485-2300 and ask to be transferred to that person. Never give out information to a caller over the phone or in a text unless you initiate the call yourself and know who you are talking to.
